Marly Hudanish, Master NCS
Founder/CEO Newborn Care Expert™, LLC.
My journey working with families began in 1993. It has now grown and now focuses on helping parents navigate and thrive as they welcome their newborn(s). Empowering parents to be their best on their new journey is such a rewarding experience for me.
After graduating as a Certified Professional Nanny from the National Nanny Academy, Inc. in 1993, I have had the pleasure of working with many wonderful families, helping children prepare for the social and academic challenges facing them as they grow through various milestones to adulthood. In 2014, I became a Credentialed Nanny from the International Nanny Association (INA). In 2015, I was honored to be named the INA Nanny of the Year. As a Professional Nanny, I understood that parents had a lot to balance. My job was to enrich their parent/child time and take some of the other tasks off their plate.
After many years as a professional nanny, I realized my passion is for newborn care. Helping parents, especially new parents thrive was my next chapter. So I began my path to becoming a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) with several basic and continuing education courses. I had the opportunity to apply to become a Master Newborn Care SpecialistⓇ. It takes 3 years to become a Master NCSⓇ with several different levels to complete. Each level is a one-year commitment. After these years of dedication, instruction, study, practice, and demonstration of skills, I achieved my goal of becoming a Master NCSⓇ in 2017. In 2019, I became a CACHE Certified NCS and INA Credentialed NCS.
Navigating the newborn period with all its changes and nuances is a skill many parents feel they lack. As a Master NCSⓇ, I’m in a position to guide them with tested and effective methods and techniques. This is especially true for multiples and preemies. I use several strategies that are all very gentle and calming during sleep conditioning. I have always done it this way. If a baby is crying they are communicating with me.
While many aspects go into newborn care, sleep is the most critical. Sleep is crucial for everyone which means setting up healthy and safe sleep habits from the beginning so important. I coach parents using proven methods, so that not only does their newborn receive the gift of restorative sleep, but so will the whole family.
Every interaction with parents is based on thousands of hours of newborn care experience and training. It’s my privilege to share that knowledge with parents so they can be more confident in their role in their child’s life.
